How Do I Know If I Can Take a Non-Angling Guest to a Lake?
Planning to bring a friend, family member, or partner along for your fishing trip? That’s a great idea — but not every venue supports non-angling guests, so it’s always best to check first. Here’s how to find out whether your chosen lake allows it (and how to double-check if you’re unsure).
🏞️ Check the Venue’s Listing
Each venue on swimbooker manages its own rules and options for non-angling guests. You can usually find this information on the venue’s profile page under the Rules or Venue Information section.
If you don’t see anything mentioned there, don’t worry — you can confirm it directly through the booking flow!
🛠️ How to Check During Booking
1️⃣ Head to your chosen venue’s page and click Book Now.
2️⃣ On Step 1 of the booking flow, select the lake or accommodation you’d like to book.
3️⃣ Once selected, your available booking options will appear just below.
✅ If the venue allows non-angling guests, you’ll see a “Non-Angling Guests” option with a dropdown menu to choose how many guests you want to bring.
🚫 If this option doesn’t appear, it means the venue does not currently support non-angling guests.
💡 Example
You’re booking “Kingfisher Lake” and notice a dropdown saying “Non-Angling Guests.”
That means you can bring one or more guests — just select the number and continue with your booking!
If the dropdown isn’t there, the lake isn’t offering this feature at the moment.
🤔 What If I Believe Guests Should Be Allowed?
Sometimes, a venue’s rules may have recently changed or not yet been updated online. If you believe non-angling guests are allowed based on what you’ve read elsewhere:
