How to Upload a Catch Report on the swimbooker App

Keep a detailed log of your fishing sessions and showcase your catches 🎣📲

swimbooker makes it easy for anglers to log and manage their fishing history. Through the MySB section of the app, you can upload catch reports, view and edit past catches, and track your personal achievements. To get started, make sure you’ve downloaded the swimbooker mobile app and are logged into your account (or create one if you’re new!).

🧾 How to Upload a Catch Report

Step 1: Starting the Upload

You can begin uploading a catch report from several places in the app:

  • Tap the menu icon on the homepage and go to “Add Catch Report”

  • Scroll to the Live Catch Reports section on the homepage and tap “Submit Catch Report”

  • Go to MySB > Catch Reports > Submit Catch Report

All of these open the same upload form 🔁

Step 2: Fill Out Catch Details (Part 1)

You’ll be prompted to enter the following info:

  • Upload Photo – Add a photo of your catch (optional). No photo? Tap “I haven’t got a picture.” 📸

  • Fishery Name – Start typing the venue. If it appears in the dropdown, select it to link your report directly to that venue. If it doesn’t appear, finish typing and select “Add Fishery Name.”

  • Lake & Swim – Optional fields to note where you were fishing 🗺️

  • Date & Time – Helps us calculate bite conditions using weather data ⏰

  • Session Length – How long were you fishing?

  • Fish Species – Choose from our list or enter your own 🐟

  • Fish Weight – Enter weight in pounds and ounces

  • PB Toggle – Toggle this on if it’s a new personal best 💪

Tap Next to move on.

Step 3: Add Optional Capture Details (Part 2)

Here you can enter more about your session:

  • Hooklink, Rig, Hook, Bait, Tactics

  • Fish Name (if known)

  • Extra Notes about the capture

We’ve included helpful placeholders to make it easier to fill in! Once you’re happy, tap Next.

Step 4: Review & Submit ✅

On the summary screen:

  • Review all your details

  • Tap Edit if anything needs correcting

📌 swimbooker+ PRO members will receive detailed weather conditions including temperature, moon phase, pressure, wind direction/speed, and cloud cover. Standard users receive basic weather info.

Tap Submit to finish!

You’ll see a success popup with options to:

  • View all your catch reports 🗂️

  • Visit the venue profile 📍

📸 Image Upload Guidelines

If you're having trouble uploading a photo, double-check the following:

  • File size must be under 10MB

  • Images must be below 3000px wide or tall

We recommend uploading over strong Wi-Fi or a good data signal to avoid errors 🔗

🏆 Angling Journey Points & Approval

To earn Angling Journey points for your report:

  • The fishery must approve your upload first ✅

Fisheries manage what appears publicly on their profile and have full control to approve or reject reports to maintain accuracy and integrity. Once approved, your points will be credited to your account 🎯
